70km total distance
Cycling from Avignon to the Pont du Gard is a scenic journey through the heart of Provence. Starting in Avignon you will cross the Rhône to Villeneuve-lès-Avignon. Follow quiet countryside roads past vineyards and olive groves, with a stop in Remoulins for a break before arriving at the iconic Roman aqueduct. Your afternoon ride will take you to Saint Remy, a typical Provencal village with charming character. Take a look around the Saint-Paul Asylum, where Vincent van Gogh painted many of his masterpieces, such as, 'The Starry Night' as a self-admitted patient.
Day 3 - Saint Remy to L'Isle-Sur-La-Sorgue
35km total distance
Today you’ll ride toward is reaching L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, or Venice of the Comtat as it's also known due to the many canals weaving through the town. There are 7 antique 'villages' within the town open year round with more than 350 dealers. If you’re lucky enough to be here on a Sunday, make sure to visit the famous Flea and Food market. There are countless art museums to explore, one of which is the Campredon Centre d'Art that hosts famous artist's work. The architecture of the town itself is like a piece of art, what with the Gothic and Baroque Notre-dame-des-Anges Collegiate Church.
Day 4 - Loop Ride from L'Isle-Sur-La-Sorgue
45km total distance
As the gateway to the Luberon, we will provide you with a number of different routes to try today in the local area from L’Isle-sur-La-Sorgue. Part of these routes will be on traffic free cycle paths that used to be part of France's railway network, until they were disused and then damaged in WWII. You will have the choice of riding to Gordes, a charming hilltop village facing the Luberon, Lacoste, which is akin to a time machine, and Roussillon, featuring an ochre path leading to picturesque orange-red cliffs. If you’re up for a longer ride, you can hit all of the above, stopping to explore along the way.

If you do want to ride Ventoux, you need to be fit and have trained for what is a 20km climb covering 1,600m of ascent. It's one of the most storied rides in all of cycling so if you take it on, you'll be cycling in the tracks of legends.

The most memorable Valentines weekend in Provence, every extra we asked for was taken care off and Lewis always gave us the feel that nothing was to much trouble, hotel, area and bikes were amazing. Looking forward to our Tuscan adventure in October. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.

We recently toured Provence with Love Velo - the hotels were lovely, the bikes considerably better & lighter than most touring bikes and the organisation before and during the trip was seamless. All in all a wonderful break.

We genuinely had the best holiday we've ever had. We booked Love Velo for a cycling trip around Provence, France. The communication running up to the trip was fantastic and hey planned the trip perfectly. The rides were fab and were well tailored to what our capabilities were, with planned cafe stops and amazing stop offs in beautiful towns that we would never have found ourselves. Each hotel was fantastic, getting better each day, and the trip was exactly as we hoped - stress free! Baggage transfers were a must and our bags were always waiting for us when we got to each hotel. Can't wait to book the next one! :D
